(meteorobs) Observation Dec 22/23

Hi!

As expected, the sky cleared one night after the outburst. Yahoo...
Anyway, I began observing as soon as it cleared, just after 11 pm. The
first thing I notice was just how cold it was, -7 C at the time. I
observed for 1.5 hrs, after that the cold got me and I went to bed.
I set my alarm clock for 3:40 in the morning, tho check on the morning
sporadic activity. I woke up at 4:10 and rushed outside - after 20 minutes
it was quite clear there was some heavy sporadic actio and that it was
*cold*! -11 C!
Most meteors I saw were faint, although there were some bright ones. The
higlight was a -3 yellow northern apex fireball at 4:55:35 UT, shooting
down Serpens. It left a 0.5 second train. Earlier, at 03:59:17 UT there
was also a nice -2 orange sporadic in Leo, it left a 3 second train. And
there was also a -2 orange sporadic in Hydra, some 8 degrees above the
southern horizon, a fireball for anyone underneath it.
There were only a few Ursids left. In the pre-midnight hour I saw 3, but
none appeared during the morning hours.

The summary:
