Re: (meteorobs) Leonid maximum best US area?

By far, the best weather in mid-November in the contiguous US is
around the Tucson, Arizona area.  There, the percentage of possible sunshine
is 85% and cloud cover (measured on a scale of 0 to 10) is 3.5.  In November,
there are typically 17 days where the sky is rated "clear."   Also . . .
nighttime temps in mid-November generally do not get much lower than the mid
or upper 40s (F.).  Across the more mountainous terrain of northern Arizona
and adjacent New Mexico the odds for cloudiness are a bit higher and . . . at
the higher elevations it is apt to be windier and colder.  At an altitude of
7,500 feet above sea level, for instance, nighttime temperatures hover within
a few degrees of 20 F.
