Great attitude, Joseph!  One of the things I enjoy most about going out to 
observe is the knowledge that I am also taking part in a tradition that has 
continued since the first humans looked up at the sky.  We are touching 
bases with the great minds in history, the present, and the future as 
well--this is something machinery simply can't do.

Okay, maybe it's a little bit of a warm and fuzzy attitude for the 
sciences, but it works for me!
