Hello. That fusion crust your are talking about--my rock has a shiny black 
top, and the sides are only sort of shiny, but nearly as smooth as the top, 
which is almost like glass (but the sides are still smooth). On one side, it 
looks like there was a very thin crust on it. The smoothness suddenly ends, 
givning way to a rougher surface. And there are spots of rust on the parts 
with no "crust". If you catch the light right, there are slivers of shiny 
things, but they are small.
