(meteorobs) Leonid 'sparks'



As a matter of interest did any Leonid observers notice any spark like
objects splitting off from not very bright (ie non fireball)Leonid meteors
near their dissapearance point.The objects ttravelled about half to one
degree away from the direction of travel at an angle of around 45 degrees to
the line of flight in the couple I saw in the 1999 shower.
I saw one Leonid only this year, a nice mag. 0 one with a 2 second train in
a small gap in the clouds the morning after the peak.
