(meteorobs) Perseid sky transparency website

With the excitement building and a massive low pressure trough
expected to develop over much of the central and then affecting
eastern areas of the USA, I am providing a tool that I am using to
"run for it" if needed on SAT, SUN, and MON eve.s.

The following website provides sky clarity forecasts, updated
twice daily for the North American continent.

www.cmc.ec.gcdot ca/cmc/htmls/transparence_e.html

If anything I think it underplays your local conditions in
my experience, unless you are in the "white" or cloud zone
on the maps, some "hands-on" local experience will be
required to judge the blue shades it exhibits for you and your
area. .

It is in UT time, you will need to be able to convert your
local time to get a correct fix as conditions change. It even
has animated time-lapse capability. My CST zone means
UT starts at 6pm here in August. I know alot of you on this
list know it, but alot of people can benefit from this sky clarity
forecast tool, specifically geared for astronomical purposes!

We need all the help we can get, there is NOTHING more
frustrating than cloudy skies at the Maxs of the peak showers.
But, how many will run for it if clear skies can be had a
few hours away.

Take a look, you can predict your local conditions up to 48 hrs.
out, nice for the observers like me who are going to have to
combat this storm system(s) as it wheels thru the US in the
next 96 hours.

Best wishes to the people who get out this Perseid maxima.
