(meteorobs) Aug 3/4 report (MATBE)
Am not sure if my last report went thru. If it did the under my signoff
signature paragraph belongs with my 7-31/8-01 night session!
Have been out several late eve.s and early AMs monitoring
the S shower activity, if my 3 nites of ob.s did not go thru I
will repost in a day or two.
Was out for 2.5 hrs teff on Aug 3/4
Zenithal star constant 6.2, recording was notepad method
without looking, straightline was used to determine shower
members w/Lunsford radiant coordinates.
Was centered on due E 60 up sector for the most part.
Final hour of that session was 15 meteors
from 1225-0130am local time, the 5 min. was spent
visiting with the county sheriff who was patrolling
the lake area around 115am!
That hour had 2 SDA, 2 NDA, 1 Alpha Cap., 1 ANT,
5 PER, & 3 Spor.
N. Apex was a grazer mag. 2 Blue White and very swift.
Had a -1 Perseid in that hour, first neg. mag. meteor
in 4 sessions, unbelievable.
Slow earlier in the session,
1055-1125 pm 1 NDA, 1 SDA, 1 PER, 4 Spor
1125-1225am 2 NDA, 4 Spor.
1225-0130am 2 SDA, 2 NDA, 1 AC, 1 NAPEX, 5 PER, 3 Spor.
(1 hr. teff, 5 min. break)
Looks like we are stuck under a front for the next day or two, then
maybe a humidity reducing backdoor cold front from the Great Lakes
will clear me out wonderfully for THUR-SAT. I hope!
