The Leonid activity on Nov 1 wasnt detectable above the sporadic meteor background.
Cinde, it was the rentry of an upper stage rocket ( used to launch the replacement
lifeboat to the International Space Station . From the Seesat list
here is the summary of the SSC's re-entry report
The explanation is very simple: The event was the decay
of 2002-050B (#27553)SOYUZ RB
SCC'FINAL REPORT predicted :
01 November, 03:41 UTC +/- 07 minutes (38.0°, 26.00°)
ascending over the Mediterranian Sea near the coast of
Turkey.
SSC == US SPACECOM == NORAD
The Final elements available are given below. From them you can check out
the position of the object quite independently.
Soyuz TMA-1 Soyuz-FG r 152 x 145 km
1 27553U 02050B 02305.02466301 .16828004 12560-4 35421-3 0 201
2 27553 51.6172 85.3649 0005810 101.8101 258.2546 16.46535496 312
The descriptions of the pilot's read just like several of the observed decays
of the same rocket type that have been observed, here in Australia. It usually breaks up into several pieces. Any further discussion of this should be
mostly in private so as to avoid non-Leonid matters
