Remarks
-already nice Geminid activity ;
5/hour.
-high sporadic rates ; main sources : Apex
(Leo), Big dipper and below the "head" of Hydra (not the S Hydrid radiant).
Also the sporadics came in little "bursts" like for example the Geminids and
perseids during the maximum night.
-Venus and Mars converged just before dawn
-Winter finally arrived in Belgium, thanks to a
severe High pressure system above Scandinavia and Russia ; -5.8°C with a strong
and
very cold wind from
eastern directions.

Remarks
-rising Geminid activity ; up to 8
members/hour.Mostly faint stream members. One big exception : at 04.25 UT I
noticed an at least -6 (possibly brighter ?) Geminid Fireball that lifted up the
whole sky for a second. She left a 10 s blue
smokey persistent train. Awesome !
-Cold conditions ; -7.3°C at the end of this
session.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
11-12/12 ; active front (ice rain !)
12-13/12 ; fog
13-14/12 ; a 1500 km last minute crash action,
together with some DMS members, to see something of the Geminid maximum was not enough to get
back the clear frosty skies. In Western Germany
we reached the clear skies in Bremen ; but the front moved almost total
unexpectedly
further to northeaster directions. We lost the Geminids and the battle against the
clouds and fog. Besides it became to dangerous on
the roads (glazed frost !!).
14-15/12 : new active frontal system moved into our
country..through some holes just before dawn, I observed a couple of
Geminids. Just for fun...
That was all,
Up to an Ursid Outburst and a great Quadrantid
return !
