(meteorobs) Perihelium in PE, Brazil
Hello enthusiasts,
Even being an off topic subject, I would like to
relate some of what was observed by me concerning to Perihelium. I went to the
litoral, about two hrs by car, and at about 0500 UT, I already
started getting its changes. I had the feeling that the Sun was always up
during all day long (03.01.03). The Sun seemed to me that it
was hotter and brigther than usual. Therefore, the temperature was very
hot, and there was no presence of winds and the clouds were very sparse. I was
in the litoral. Despite I haven't got any scientific tooll avalaible, such as
protection lens, or some other casual material like, x-ray negatives or
solder lens, I could be delighted so much having the Sun so close
to the Earth and its plenitude as well. I could get, for example, that, even
without looking at it, that the Sun was always high (above the horizon). So, the
impression is that it had burned the skin much more than the usual. These data I
could get in the first hours of the morning varying from 0500 UT to 0830
UT.
Again, despite all care to observe the Perihelium
to the naiked eyes, I observed its shadows on the painted (white) wall of
the house. I tried to make it work as a paper. Nice! So, again, the temperature
was very hot -, and the people that were with me, claimed about the Sun
heating! I didn't carry my thermometer to check the real temp., but, according
with my relative experience, the average was between 32º C to 34º C. Not as much
for the summer season peak in my country, but hot!
During the afternnon long, however, there was no
differences as those observed in the morning, except for some moderate winds
which brought kind of relief to my observation. It gave me the feeling that
the tide was again getting high. I think that it was a very nice sunshine day
for all over that was in the NE litoral of PE, Brazil.
It is also unecessary to affirm that the Perihelium
wasn't so close of us as it was in the Northern Hemisphere. Although,
its presence was very comfortable for enthusiasts that appreciate the
cosmos and its glamour. It is mandatory to reinforce in a report like that
to observe certain care with the eyes. Phenomena like perihelium and eclipses
cause permanent damages to the eyes. Finally, to conclude, I apologize for
taking so much of your time, and for just having time to observe the
Perihelium one day before the date contained on official astronomical
reports got by me. So, any comment on this will be welcomed.
Clear Skies,
Marco Valois
