Re: (meteorobs) Mintron 12V1 and Sony EX-view chip

Hi
My Mintron came in a white cardboard box which carries a label
giving model, serial sumber, power requirements etc.

The first line reads:

"MODEL: 12V1C-EX"
(with EX for EX-view)

The same label is also glued to the housing of the camera itself.

Below this label there is another one shining through the label
reading:

"12V1C
EX"

Concerning the dead pixels Mintron will be quite cautious in their
statements to avoid warranty claims. I hope that the rate at which
dead
pixels numbers build up will level off after some months.

Most of the cameras we received in November carried a handfull of
very bright dead pixels.

Mine was an exception having only some minor pixel defects which are
only
visible when the camera is operated in the dark at 128 mode and full
AGC defects and disappear when the camera is operated at lower ambient
temperature.

This situation has not changed since I have the camera.

Some results with the mintron can be seen on

There is a picture of the Teide volcano at night, and one bright pixel
is
visible on the slope of the mountain (this was not my camera). A
result
with the post-maximum night of the Geminids can be seen on
