(meteorobs) July 2, 2003 Meteor Observations from California

I made it out for a four hour session this morning. The sky was not quite as
impressive as yesterday as the light pollution seemed to trespass into the
eastern half of the sky. Activity was good and constant. It was also much
fainter than yesterday. There were many +3's and +4's and even a couple
of +6's. The Northern Apex area was more active tonight. A straggler
from the Southern Apex was also seen. The highlight of the session was a
-2 sporadic seen low in the north, too far from my center of view to plot
accurately.

The first column gives the period watched stated in Universal Time (UT)
which is PDT + 7 hours. The second column gives the percent of that
particular hour actually spent observing the sky. The third column gives the
average limiting magnitude estimated during each period. The last several
columns list the activity seen during each period. I was facing east at an
altitude of 50 degrees during the entire session. No breaks were taken. ANT
= Antihelions (Sagittarids), SPX = Southern Apex, NPX = Northern Apex, and
SPO = Sporadics (random activity).
