Dear List,

I and Petros Georgopoulos travelled to Mount Taygetos of Peloponnisos, near Sparta, at 1230m to observe the Leonid shower on the morning of the 19th.

The site is excellent, above the fog that has become the typical weather here at this time of the year, with transparent sky and stable atmosphere. The LM was 6.4 and we monitored the shower from 02:30 to 04:00 UT (on the 19th).

The display was poor in bright meteors and we estimate (without any further analysis yet) that the ZHR was equal to 50.
