I think it isn't quite likely that this event is related to the Bootids
(Quadrantids). The radiant was a mere 7 degrees above the northern horizon
for Madrid and a day after the maximum activity of the stream is low. The
reports of sonic booms suggest a deep penetrating object and that is quite
unlike the Quadrantids too.

We'll see when more details come available.
