(meteorobs) Lyrid from Southern Maryland

Hello meteorobs,

My guess about being clouded out for the Lyrids was about half right. Even
though it was overcast at 9pm EDT on 4/21, the sky had cleared, mostly, by 3
am EDT on 4/22. The observing conditions were very flawed but nevertheless
I watched the sky for 48 minutes until I was completely clouded out.

Date: 4/22/2004        Site: McKendree MD
Time: 7:51-8:39 UT,   Teff=0.80
Cloud cover, F=1.52
Lm= 4.5
Field center was the Lyrid radiant

LYR: 0 mag.
SPO: +3 mag.           Total meteors=2

The early morning experience was enhanced by an Iridium flare and by seeing
(almost colliding with) a group of six deer crossing the street on my way to
the site.

Best wishes,  Rich
