One a week eh? Very nice. - SuperNova 2003hx.

Hello All,

Another SuperNova for this week has been discovered in NGC 2076 (in Lepus).
This galaxy is edge on with a dust lane. It's at mag 14.0 and type S0+: sp
with dimensions 2.2 by 1.3 arc minutes. This is from the AAVSO...

Subject: 0542-16 SUPERNOVA 2003hx IN NGC 2076 (LEPUS)

We have been informed by IAU CBAT (IAU Circular 8199) of the discovery of an
apparent supernova in NGC 2076 by the LOTOSS supernova search project on
KAIT images taken September 12.5 and 13.5 UT at CCD magnitude 14.3 and 14.4,
respectively. A KAIT image taken March 7.2 showed nothing at the position
down to about magnitude 18.5.

The position of the object, located 5.2" west and 2.6" south of the nucleus
of NGC 2076, is given as:

 R.A. = 05h46m46.97s, Decl. = -16o47'00.6" (equinox 2000.0).

Here's a finder/comparison chart...
