Description:
Under light polluted skies I found this member of the local group of
galaxies a bit difficult to find. Once found however I could easily
make out a large oval smudge between two field stars (75x). At 115x I
could see that the northen side of the galaxy appeared to have more
knots as was not as bright as the southern side. I could not make out
individual knots but there was a mottled appareance to that are. There
was no hint of a nucleus. There was also an interesting field star
approximately where the nucleus would be that popped in and out of
seeing. This gave the appearance of a stellar core to the nucleus that
did not really exist.
