Vmag=11.4; discovered by Aitken in 1900; ELCAT: [OIII, 496+501nm] = 15 x
[Hbeta, 486nm].
RA/DE: 12h33.11m, +82°33.8' (2000.0)
Date and UT of observation: 23 February 1990, 00h00TU
Location & latitude: La Clapiere Obs. (France, latN44 40 00, longE06 27 36)
Site classification: rural, alt.1650m (5500ft)
Limiting magnitude (visual in UMi): 5.6 with averted vision
Transparency (1 to 5 - best to worst): 2
Seeing (1 to 5 - best to worst): 3
Moon up (phase?): no
Instrument: Japanese 4.25" (114mm) F/7.8
Magnification: 36-180x
Filters used: no, prism

Description: located at 36x with prism, stellar-like, about mag10; has a
companion star of mag10.5 less than 5' to the SSW; at 72x, slightly
nebulous star; at 100x, small nebulosity, well seen; at 180x, weak central
star, faint and faintly detached of a small nebulosity, round, about 15" in
diameter.

binhex encoding of Eudora (for Mac); just mail me to try
(ypothier@abi.snv.jussieu.fr), it works quite often with other
configurations...
