Description:
Amazing that when I first got my telescope I thought of this planetary as
somewhat challenging, it must have been low down or something because tonight
it was not far from the Zenith and was very easy, a large and round patch of
light, I did not use an OIII filter and couldn't make out the darker patches
that give it it's name "Owl Nebula" but just visited it as it was close to M108
which I had just been observing, it was a nice way to bring a great evening to
a close, the wind has picked up and quite a lot of cirrus is moving in from the
south, and I'm whacked out too!! time to go home.
Lew, I forgot to change the con to UMa for M108, could you update it please?
