Filter(s): none
Object(s): NGC 2371
Category: Planetary nebula.
Class:
Constellation: Gem
Data: mag 13.0 size 54"
Position: RA : DEC :
Description:
The TV-102 tried to lift weight with NGC 2371-2, some called it the
Micro Dumbbell. This 13.0 mag pair of PN could not be seen at 22x
and 30x. 60x showed a glimpse of some faint nebulosity near a 9.7
mag star GSC 1922:1747. At 110x, it is fairly small and dim but
clearly seen as nebula, elongated, no dumbbell shape seen. Flickers
at 146x and gave a hint of a dumbbell shape with averted vision.
Best view. Elongated shape can still be seen at 220x but much
dimmer. Central star not seen.
