RA/DE: 19h35m31s, +29°44'40" (2000.0)
Date and UT of observation: 28 August 2003, 23h10 UT
Location & latitude: La Clapiere Obs. (France, latN44 40 00, longE06 27 36)
Site classification: rural, alt.1650m (5500ft)
Limiting magnitude (visual in UMi): 6.34
Transparency (1 to 5 - best to worst): 1.5
Seeing (1 to 5 - best to worst): 2.5
Altitude of object above horizon: 58°
Moon up (phase?): no
Instrument: Coulter 445mm/17.5" F/4.5
Magnification: 74x, 125x
Filters used: UHC, OIII, Hbeta

Description: at 74x and 125x with OIII filter, an arc is seen about
10' south-east from a 6th mag. star [Phi CYG, V=4.7], coordinates are
19h39m55s, +29°59'43"; large arc extremely faint, about 16.5'x0.8'
along a NE-SW axis, slightly curved (curvature facing NW [PA325°]);
two slight brightenings are seen towards the NE end, beeing 1.5' long
and just east from a 10th mag. star; UHC and Hbeta filters give no
contrast gain, while OIII provides a good one. Nothing visible
without filter.

I can provide a scanned drawing of Sh 2-91 in .jpg to anyone who can
read the binhex encoding of Eudora (for Mac); just mail me to try
(yann.pothier@fnac.net), it works quite often with other
configurations...
