Description:
Surprisingly bright nebula that responds extremely well to the OIII filter and turns
into a real gem with the use of the OIII ! The size of the nebula is ~8x10' (round
bright part with a very faint extemsion to the N). The bright round disk shows
some darkening towards the middle, where a bright 9th magnitude star is located.
The S edge of Sh2-311 is brighter than the other parts of the disk. The open
cluster NGC 2467, which is embedded in the nebula, is very loose.
