(meteorobs) Northern Va Meteors

Hi y'all;

Friday saw a MAJOR storm front blow through the Washington DC area spawning
tornadoes and other such havoc. Created the most remarkably clear skies on
the east coast for the summer with little to no humidity and haze. Went
out observing Saturday early AM and then again late PM to Sunday AM.
Probably will be a zombie at work today. This is the first time I tried
plotting meteors, boy how do you do this when its 20 degrees out with wind
chills? Session results were as follows:

July 20        01:52 - 4:30 EDT  Teff=126 min,  23 Meteors, 4 Perseids  LM=5.5
July 20/21  22:25-00:38 EDT  Teff=120 min,  11 Meteors, 1 Perseid    LM=6.0

Did not see any activity around Alpha CYG either night. How close to eta
Per is the alledged minor shower for these two nights? Will check the plots
for other showers later today. In addition I had a video setup recording
the sky between PER, CYG and CAS and hope to have caught something both
nights. I have got four hours of video to watch with LM around 9th.
Should take a week to run through it all.

Pete Gural
