RE: (meteorobs) Observations Aug 11/12

Fred,
	Have you got the details on that meteor? One of the few meteors I saw that 
pushed through the awful haze and low level moisture was a nice one before 
midnight, moving straight up from the horizon. Despite the fact that it is 
the only meteor I recorded data on, I still haven't checked the tape yet, 
so I'll have time later. I did see a hnadful of Perseids after I stopped 
recording data...probably 4 in 2 hours. What a yucky night!
	Here in Voorhees State Park, near High Bridge, the "best" LM was about 
+3.8, and it got worse as the night regressed. Stopped recording data at 
midnight when moon lit up the haze and reduced LM below 3.5, and by 2 AM 
when patchy clouds added to the fun, it was down to about 3.2 only above 40 
degrees elevation. I went home and saved up my enrgy for tonight, when 
things should be slightly better Perseid wise, and hopefully MUCH better 
weatherwise.

Hi Kim:
We had terrible viewing conditions here with cloud, moon and light
reflecting ground fog so didn't attempt a serious observation session.
Maybe tonite.

We did however see a beautiful -3 sporadic (from Draco maybe?) before
midnite.  Long visible train, fast meteor but going towards Cassopeia
rather than away as we were expecting.  When did you see your -3
sporadic?  This one was very impressive here in muggy, cloudy, light
polluted South Jersey.
