Lew you make some interesting comments but where did you get the idea
that very fast sporadics are rare? It all depends on what time of the
night as to what speed the sporadics appear. Your statement holds true
for the early evening period but the completely opposite situation
exists just before dawn. At that time of the night it is the slow
sporadics that are rare as a majority of the activity is colliding
head-on with Earth producing swift meteors.

Bob....you beat me to it. Just didn't get around to answering...had to go to a
girl scout pizza thing with my wife and daughter. I had canadian bacon with
pineapple...my favorite. For the night of Sep 13/14 where I plotted 47
meteors, I had 5 listed as Slow, 18 of Medium Speed, 8 Fast, and 16 Very
Fast. I had none that were Very Slow. Prior to midnight, 2 were Slow and 2
were Very Fast. After midnight, 3 were Slow and 14 were Very Fast. I've also
seen less meteors prior to midnight so the comparison isn't exactly
equal...but I think enough to get an idea.
