(meteorobs) September 23/24 1998 observation
On September 23/24, I set up all my winter gear to observe 3 hours
and a half teff at Casselman. Again, skies were very clear but the
temperatures were almost freezing, with a frost warning. It felt
more comfortable tho as the wind was calmer than the previous night.
I observed 38 meteors in all. Sept Perseids (Delta Aur) and Piscids
continued at a low rate but were certainly present. No activity
from the Sigma Orionids. A nice meteor was a blue-white magnitude 0
SPR that left a 2 second train. Two sporadics also showed up as
magnitude 0. Nothing brighter.
This is probably my last observation until the Draconids. The skies
over Ottawa are now clouded out. The bright moon is also back.
I expect to rest well before my "run" for Draconids next week.
