(meteorobs) meteor storm 1833-34
I am
writing a book in which much of the action takes place during the years 1833 -
1834. I understand there was an important meteor storm during that period,
and I would like to make reference to it. But I know virtually nothing
about meteors!
A
couple of questions:
1. At
that time was the phenomenon referred to as a "meteor storm" ?
Or, was some other term in common usage ?
2.
Would these events have been visible in South Carolina ?
3. Are
there any contemporary descriptions of how people reacted to the events
?
