(meteorobs) Observation Apr 9/10 1999



Hello,

I was out observing a number of nights this month, recording 61 meteors. It
was sure enjoyable to watch under clear crisp skies and tolerable nighttime
temperatures of about -3C. It makes it so much easier to plot meteors! Lots
of Canada Geese were seen and heard throughout these nights at the
Casselman site. I also got some company by fellow amateur astronomers from
the local OAOG group. One of them comes quite regularly with his large
custom built "portable" observatory. It is sure neat to see him assemble
this building in so little time!

Here is the first session for April 9/10. I observed for almost 3 hours
teff. I faced the usual south-east and was watching primarly for Virginids
activity. A total of 14 meteors were seen (3 Virginids and 11 sporadics).
All 3 Virginids aligned with the IMO radiant. Everything was plotted
without problem. No real highlights were seen that night. Here is the
