(meteorobs) The ice in Spain ..falls mainly from the plane....

Keep in mind that there are also fresh water fill ports on airplanes. Even thought they are not intended to be vented in
flight, they can leak and accumulate "laminar flow forms"( tear-drops) like waste water does. So absence of waste-water
treatment chemicals does not exclude the likelihood that this is an artifact of air traffic.  The fact that these are
only found in Spain is good evidence that, as Kim points out,  this is probably from a locally operated aircraft.

According to a paper I read (Geochemica?), one of the minor components of a comet would be H20.  A surviving remnant
would look closer to a gritty tar ball and smell like methane--yes like excrement
