Hi Debbie. If I have any understanding of aurora, (and the geography of Wisconsin) what you saw couldn't have been aurora. You would have to be looking North to see them from the northern hemisphere. (and south from the southern hemisphere) Your message said you were looking south-East...

I can't offer another explanation, but I'm sure one will turn up.
