Re: (meteorobs) Using a PC23C (Re-post)



I should have updated my post. The camera is working. I found that using a  16mm movie camera lens
did the trick. My c-mount adapter for the 35mm SLR lens was way too long. The adapter apparently was
not made for my Pentax camera. Adirondack sells one.  I've since put the PC23C to work at prime
focus of my 8" scope, and will eventually get it, or its borther the PC164C (need to purchase),
around to doing meteor work .  With the simple 16mm lens, the camera gets down to about +1 mag. At
prime focus, it's been able to image Jupiter's Io. Although, I'm not too concerened about getting
reasonably detailed images of Jupiter, that has eluded me.
