Object(s): NGC6507
Category: Open cluster.
Class: ?
Constellation: Sag
Data: mag 10.0p size 07.0'
Position: RA 17:59.6 DEC (-)17:24
Description:
254X – NGC6507, open cluster appears as an indistinct oval that is almost
devoid of stars in it’s center. A gently curving stream of 4 stars drape
across the southern side of the area of NGC6507. Stars from East to west are
GSC6254.1814/11.3 mag, GSC6254.1096/12.3 mag, GSC6254.46/12.9 mag,
GSC6254.172/8.9 mag. Other stars within the cluster boundaries per MegaStar; v5
are extremely faint at 15 mag or fainter like the galactic background stars.
Uranometria 2000 and MegaStar; v5 indicate 35 cluster stars, but I only count
21. (My observation strongly resembles the DSS image for NGC6507.)

Where is NGC6507?
Could there be a catalog error or is it beyond the grasp of the 30CM SCT?
There is a wedge shaped concentration of 32 stars of 8.9 to 13.1 mag. Stars to
the South East. However it does not fit the “Oval” description of the catalog.
