If you are going to list meteor elevation and azimuth, I personally think
just noting a constellation abbreviation would be more efficient.  But when
plotting, you don't need to record this info since the plot will tell us
where in the sky the meteor was at.  And during major showers, it can quickly
overwhelm some good shower designating by trying to heap on 2 more bits of
data to record.  It's not impossible and doable showing 2 more bits of info,
but my recording form is getting mighty cramp to add much else.  right now I
use the available space for camera start/stop times. ..I only got room for
maybe one more piece of info and the shorter the better...3 letter
constellation abbreviation would work. Thus I favor the constellation method
over the compass direction and elevation in degrees.  Maybe this could be a
topic that should be discussed at the 1996 International Meteor Conference in
Apeldoorn, The Netherlands in September? At least see if this kind of info is
desired?
