This method works beautifully, even at high rates. I always have
a roll of paper with me as a backup. In fact during the 1999 Leonids
my tape recorder failed just at the peak of the storm, and I switched
to the roll method during the observation.
After the show I was sitting in the middle of many meters of roll
paper - but it worked.
